Big girl bed!
I've been wanting to get a bigger bed for awhile now as my twin just hasn't been cutting it. I hated the thought of spending at least $300 dollars for a new mattress and box spring, so I started looking around Craigslist to see what was available. I found a few beds that looked promising, but the thought of using a stranger's bed was kind of skeevy. Then a girl I know posted that she was looking to get rid of a barely used king size bed for a mere $150. I jumped on that deal and am now the proud owner of a true blue big girl bed!

Paring down possessions
I just sold an extra winter coat on eBay that was too big for me and I put up three more things for sale: an old camera flash, a 35mm camera I no longer use, and a pair of shoes that were given to me a few years ago and have barely ever been worn (by me or their previous owner). I'm not sure if the flash will sell since it's so old, but my camera already has a bid and a handful of watchers.
I've reached a point where I'm sick of having so many unnecessary things lying about and taking up space. I just went through a whole bunch of shampoo samples I've had sitting around, waiting to be used. I'm almost done burning a bag of old votive candles that were given to me eons ago and a package of incense I've had since I was a teenager (yes, a decade ago!).
Good riddance!

Living situation
I signed the lease for my new place today and I couldn't be more excited. I currently live in a tiny one bedroom apartment, but I'll be moving to a three bedroom home in December. I'll be sharing the lease and bills with one roommate (potentially two roommates in the spring), so my cost of living will go down while my quality of living will go up. This is such a beautiful place and with all the amenities we were hoping for, so everyone is going to be a happy camper. The house is also much closer to work, so I'll be able to walk and take the connector bus instead of driving in which will naturally save me some money in gas and wear and tear on my car.
I'm also really looking forward to going through all of my stuff and getting rid of things that I really don't need or use anymore. I already have one of my winter coats up on eBay and I'm hoping to put up an old 35mm camera and flash I haven't touched in ages. I've already got a sizable stack of books to get rid of.
While I generally hate moving, I'm really looking forward to this move because I'm moving on to bigger and better things!

Hello and welcome!
Welcome to the new 20saver blog! I was previously found at http://20saver.wordpress.com, but I felt that my life has changed so drastically since I first started my blog that I should just start with a clean slate.
I plan on copying over some of my popular, older posts, so it won't be a complete 180.
Thanks for making the transition with me and I'll be posting some actual content here shortly.
